8 Fall-Inspired Self-Care Ideas for All the Moms

Mamas, we know that you know that self-care is the key to taking on our everyday, hectic lives. If you are anything like us, you have a self-care routine that you stick to religiously.

That being said, our lives are constantly changing. Sometimes what works in one season of life is not what we need in another.

As the seasons change and fall comes knocking on our doors, we, at The Cool Mom Co., like to take this opportunity to refresh our self-care routine. Read on since we’re sharing our favorite fall-inspired self-care tips! So you can be your best self all year long!

1. Switch Out Your Wardrobe

It’s easy to fall into the habit of reaching for the same jeans and t-shirt day after day. When you need a little refreshment, try reorganizing your closet, by season.

Packing away your summer clothes will free up much-needed room in your closet. You’ll be able to see what clothing items you have available to you as you put together your outfit for the day. Doing this will significantly help reduce your stress levels in the morning and can help you save time.

Keeping a seasonal wardrobe can also help boost your mood by keeping your clothing exciting. For example, when you unpack your fall clothes after months apart, you might find pieces you had forgotten about! It’s like a wardrobe refresh shopping trip, but you don’t have to spend a cent!

2. Try A Fall Inspired Face Mask

Fall might mean a return of bright colors and cozy sweaters, but it also brings dry, cold weather that can wreak havoc on your skin. Don’t stress, Mamas! Instead, consider buying yourself a fun, fall-inspired face mask to keep you looking beautiful inside and outside.

We have to recommend the popular Pumpkin Enzyme Mask from Peter Thomas Roth. Designed to polish and renew your skin, it’s packed with pumpkin enzyme and AHAs to give your skin a gorgeous glow.

3. Bake a New Recipe

Fall is synonymous with comfort and coziness. And nothing says cozy like the smells of a fresh baked good in the oven!

Baking isn’t just a delicious way to celebrate the colder months. Did you know that studies show that baking is an effective way to reduce stress levels? A chance to support mental health AND eat chocolate?

The Cool Mom Co. founder Lizzy Mathis, has all your baking needs covered. Check out her YouTube channel, In The Kitchen With Lizzy, for all sorts of inspiration. We, of course, have to recommend her Halloween-inspired brownie recipe.

4. Switch Up Your Manicure

Nothing makes us Moms feel more beautiful and put together than a fresh set of nails. But, are you stuck in the rut of using the same colors and styles? We’re certainly guilty of sticking with the classics.

A change of season is a great time to switch it up. Next time you head to the nail salon for some self-care time, consider leaning into the season with a fall-inspired manicure. We love going for deeper shades as the weather turns cooler. Colors like mulberry, rusty orange, cool grays, and even black all look gorgeous for autumn.

5. Celebrate Fall Colors

In a season filled with gorgeous colors, now is the time to celebrate them! If you are looking for a new way to relax and care for yourself, take inspiration from your surroundings. Now is a great time to pull out those watercolors you bought and never used.

Creating art can be a powerful form of relaxation. We love the idea of taking an afternoon to focus on self-care by painting the beautiful fall landscapes.

6. Try a Sugar Scrub

Are you looking to treat yourself during your self-care routine? Try adding in an exfoliating sugar scrub.

Sugar scrubs are a gentle way to treat the dry, dull skin that can come with seasonal changes. We recommend the Sugared Koffie Almond Milk Scrub from Drunk Elephant. Not only does it buff away rough sections of skin, but it also smells like your delicious autumn morning cup of coffee.

7. Enjoy a Warm Bath

Nothing feels better than sinking into a hot bath on a cold night. Make every bath a luxurious self-care experience with a clean Sea Salt Bath Soak. We also love the deep, rich scent of this Morrocan Fig and Bergamot Bath Oil from Marianella.

8. Try Cozy Yoga

Yoga is a profoundly effective way to relax your mind and body. Take extra care of yourself by doing a cozy yoga practice, like this one from Yoga with Adrienne. Bundle up in your favorite sweats, dim the lights, and build a deeper connection with your mind and body.
