Fresh Strawberry Tart
Ingredients
Crust
- 1 1/3 Cup flour
- 1/4 Cup sugar
- 1/2 Tsp. salt
- 10 Tbsp. butter melted
Filling
- 1/2 Cup heavy cream
- 2 Blocks of cream cheese softened
- 1/2 Cup sugar
- 1 Lemon zested & squeezed
- 1 Tsp. vanilla extract
Topping
- Fresh strawberries
- 3 tbsp. strawberry preserves
Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Wash & slice the fresh strawberries.
- Combine the flour, sugar & salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the melted butter & combine until a dough is made.
- Spread the dough evenly into a baking pan, poke holes in the bottom with a fork.
- Bake for 25-30 mins. until golden brown & let cool completely.
- Beat the heavy cream with a hand mixer until you see stiff peaks (5-7 mins.)
- In a separate mixing bowl, add the cream cheese & sugar & combine with the hand mixer.
- Zest & juice one lemon, add vanilla extract & combine.
- Add the peaked heavy cream mixture to the cream cheese mixture & fold until combined.
- Add the combined mixture to the cooled crust, then begin adding the fresh sliced strawberries.
- Top with warmed strawberry preserves & enjoy!
