Shrimp Street Tacos & Homemade Tortillas

Ingredients

For the Homemade Tortillas

  • 1 Cup masa mix from @masienda ⁠on Instagram
  • 1 Cup hot or warm water ⁠

For The Toppings:

  • Handful of cherry tomatoes diced ⁠
  • 1/3 Red onion diced⁠
  • Handful of fresh mint leaves diced ⁠
  • Juice of 1 lime ⁠
  • Salt to taste⁠
  • Olive oil to taste⁠
  • 1 Whole avocado - for guac! ⁠

For the Garlic Shrimp Filling:

  • 2 Cloves of fresh garlic chopped finely ⁠
  • 1 lb of shrimp⁠
  • Paprika to taste ⁠
  • Salt & Pepper to taste⁠

Instructions

  • Combine the masa mix and hot water to create a tortilla dough.⁠
  • ⁠Roll dough into balls & press gently in a cast iron tortilla press.⁠
  • ⁠Once dough is flattened, you’re ready to put straight into a non-stick pan. flip the tortillas until cooked fully (wrap your tortillas in a cloth to keep them warm!)⁠
  • Prep your taco toppings: cherry tomatoes, red onion, fresh mint, and put into a small bowl (homemade pico salsa) ⁠
  • ⁠Slice the avocado and make the guacamole, season to your taste! ⁠
  • ⁠Prep the shrimp & add desired spices: salt, pepper, paprika ⁠
  • ⁠In an oiled cast iron skillet, add the garlic cloves and shrimp & cook until golden on each side ⁠
  • ⁠Build your mini tacos: shrimp, salsa toppings & guacamole ⁠
  • ⁠Indulge & enjoy!!
