Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Reduce the heat to medium-high. Add about 1 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil and 1 pound ground beef to the pan.
Break the beef up with a wooden spoon into small pieces, until cooked browned, for about 5 minutes.
Add the following ingredients into the meat as it’s cooking: organic yellow mustard, worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, onion powder, and freshly ground black pepper.
Stir to combine all ingredients, and cook for about 2 minutes. Remove the skillet from the heat.
In a separate medium cast iron skillet, heat extra virgin olive oil on high heat.
Add the thinly sliced red onions to the skillet and cook until slightly golden, about 4 to 6 minutes, then transfer to a plate.
Without separating the rolls, cut 1 package of Hawaiian sweet rolls in half horizontally with a serrated knife. Place the bottom half of the rolls cut-side up in a small rimmed baking sheet.
Place the american cheese slices on the bottom half of the rolls in an even layer.
Top with the onions in an even layer. Then top with the beef mixture.
Sprinkle shredded medium cheddar cheese over and top with sliced dill pickles.
Place the top half of the rolls cut-side down over the pickles.
Brush 1 tablespoon melted butter or olive oil over the top of the rolls, then top with sesame seeds.
Cover the baking sheet tightly with aluminum foil and bake for about 10 minutes. While the sliders are baking, begin making the burger sauce, and build the lettuce wraps as a healthier option.
