Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups Flour
  • 1 Tbsp. + 1 Tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1 Tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1 Tsp. Salt
  • 1 Tsp. Sugar
  • 2 Sticks of Unsalted Butter
  • 1 ¾ Cup Buttermilk

Instructions

  • Combine all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, & sugar in a large mixing bowl
  • Pour flour mixture into a food processor & add in cubed unsalted butter
  • Pulse the food processor until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs
  • Pour the processed flour mixture into a bowl & work the mixture with your hands
  • Add buttermilk into the flour mixture & combine by folding until achieving a sticky consistency
  • Generously flour your cutting board & hands
  • Pour dough onto floured surface & flatten evenly into a circle, using your hands
  • Using a cookie cutter or rounded glass, cut into the dough to create a perfect rounded shape
  • Repeat this process until there is no remaining dough
  • Place the biscuit rounds onto a baking sheet
  • Top the biscuit rounds with extra buttermilk, or egg wash
  • Heat the biscuits in the oven at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown
