Can you tell us a secret no one would guess about you?
I love driving. I’ve literally driven all over the country and even in other countries too. I have the most amazing sense of direction (if I do say so myself). It’s impossible for me to get lost.
One meal you could eat everyday?
It’s not a meal, but French Fries. Fries are my ultimate comfort food. French fried potatoes, pomme Frites, chips – or just plain fries no matter what you call them- I have never met a fry I didn’t like!!
One vice you wont give up?
Binge watching 16 episodes of my latest K-drama in one weekend. K dramas are like slow paced romance meets fairy tale and I love it!
Late riser or early bird?
I’ve been an early bird my whole life. I don’t think there’s ever been a time in my life that I’ve slept in. I love everything about mornings – the morning sun and stillness at that time of day. Most of all, I love the sense of accomplishment I get from all the tasks I can get done before 9 am.
Morning routine you swear by?
I wake up – brush and floss my teeth. Go to the kitchen to pound down my supplements. Jump into a cute workout set and get in my morning workout. I carve out two hours for shower, body care, hair care, skincare and makeup. Now do you understand why I’m a morning person? LOL.
One day I hope...
to be living in a glass house in the hills. I love architecture and would love to work with an architect one day to build my dream home. That is a huge fantasy of mine. One day!
More the merrier or less is more?
Less is more all the way. From makeup, fashion, design – I love the minimal approach to it all. That goes for life too. I’ve learned that you can have everything in the world and still not be happy.
Cool Brands you love?
Ohhhh good question. Obviously I’m exposed to so many brands with amazing products but if we’re going to talk about ‘cool’ brands, to me that’s a brand that hits all the marks. In addition to making effective, lovely products the brand has created a beautiful aesthetic and branding too. For makeup brands I would say, Make Beauty and Hourglass are the epitome of modern and minimal. I love everything they make from makeup to skincare. Not only do I love their products, but I love their branding and all the details that go into their products. For fashion, Reona, Trois, Dissh and Reformation all understand the everyday modern woman. Their clothing is made for the woman who wants something timeless and sexy. I love the way their clothes flatter my body – I always feel beautiful when I wear their pieces. For skin and body care, I’d say Common Heir, Klur, Osea, Salt and Stone, Costa Brazil, Tata Harper, Saltair… I mean, I can go on and on in this category. These brands really want you to have a love affair with their products and that comes across when you’re using them. When it comes to fragrances, I would say Nette and Phlur have captured my heart recently. Both brands create fragrances that are elevated and sexy.
On the horizon: what’s coming soon?
Filing taxes as a single woman! I’ve been going through the divorce process this last year. Anyone who has been through this knows how heavy this process is – it really takes an emotional toll on you. My new phase of life is all about learning to live my best life as a single woman with my two adult daughters.
