Challah French Toast

Challah French Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 Loaf of Challah bread
  • 1 ½ Cup Milk of choice ⁠
  • 3 Large Egg yolks ⁠
  • 3 Tbsp Brown sugar⁠
  • 1/2 Tsp Cinnamon ⁠
  • 2 Tbsp Melted butter unsalted (+ 2 tbsp to coat cast iron skillet) ⁠
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt⁠
  • 1 Tbsp Vanilla extract ⁠
  • Maple syrup to taste ⁠
  • Fresh Raspberries + blueberries for topping⁠

Instructions

  • Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees. ⁠
  • ⁠Whisk together the sugar, cinnamon, salt, and egg yolks⁠.
  • ⁠Add the vanilla extract & melted butter to the egg mixture & whisk.⁠
  • ⁠Add the milk into the egg mixture & combine.⁠
  • ⁠Slice your challah bread into even slices & get ready to dip each side! ⁠
  • ⁠Once all bread slices have been dipped, transfer to a heated & coated cast iron skillet & begin cooking each side until golden. ⁠
  • ⁠Lay the french toast flat in the cast iron skillet and bake for an additional 10 minutes.⁠
  • ⁠Top with berries and maple syrup.⁠
  • ⁠Enjoy!
