Challah French Toast
Ingredients
- 1 Loaf of Challah bread
- 1 ½ Cup Milk of choice
- 3 Large Egg yolks
- 3 Tbsp Brown sugar
- 1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp Melted butter unsalted (+ 2 tbsp to coat cast iron skillet)
- 1/4 Tsp Salt
- 1 Tbsp Vanilla extract
- Maple syrup to taste
- Fresh Raspberries + blueberries for topping
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees.
- Whisk together the sugar, cinnamon, salt, and egg yolks.
- Add the vanilla extract & melted butter to the egg mixture & whisk.
- Add the milk into the egg mixture & combine.
- Slice your challah bread into even slices & get ready to dip each side!
- Once all bread slices have been dipped, transfer to a heated & coated cast iron skillet & begin cooking each side until golden.
- Lay the french toast flat in the cast iron skillet and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
- Top with berries and maple syrup.
- Enjoy!
