Cast Iron Pizza
Ingredients
- Pizza dough from Trader Joes
- 1 Can of Marzano Tomatoes
- 1 Cup Mozzarella Cheese shredded
- 1/4 Cup Fresh basil chopped
- 1/4 Cup Fresh parsley to taste (for garnish)
- 2 Tbsp Honey
- 1/2 Tsp Garlic powder
- 1/4 Tsp Italian Seasoning
- 1/2 Tsp Flaky Salt
- 2 Tbsp Butter for cast iron coating
- Olive Oil to taste (for pizza dough)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Let the dough sit in olive oil for about 5-10 minutes.
- Coat the cast iron skillet with butter.
- In a blender, combine the canned marzano tomatoes, honey, spices, and fresh basil.
- Remove the pizza dough from the olive oil bath and roll flat on a cutting board.
- Add the pizza dough to the cast iron skillet, top with the pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the oven until the mozzarella cheese is caramelized and golden brown (about 10-15 minutes).
- Remove from the oven, let cool, and top with fresh parsley.
