Cast Iron Skillet Pizza

Cast Iron Pizza

Ingredients

  • Pizza dough from Trader Joes
  • 1 Can of Marzano Tomatoes
  • 1 Cup Mozzarella Cheese shredded
  • 1/4 Cup Fresh basil chopped
  • 1/4 Cup Fresh parsley to taste (for garnish)
  • 2 Tbsp Honey
  • 1/2 Tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/4 Tsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1/2 Tsp Flaky Salt
  • 2 Tbsp Butter for cast iron coating
  • Olive Oil to taste (for pizza dough)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Let the dough sit in olive oil for about 5-10 minutes.
  • Coat the cast iron skillet with butter.
  • In a blender, combine the canned marzano tomatoes, honey, spices, and fresh basil.
  • Remove the pizza dough from the olive oil bath and roll flat on a cutting board.
  • Add the pizza dough to the cast iron skillet, top with the pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake in the oven until the mozzarella cheese is caramelized and golden brown (about 10-15 minutes).
  • Remove from the oven, let cool, and top with fresh parsley.
  • Enjoy!
