Cool Mom: Libby Boyce

Occupation:  Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Mom of: 2

Can you tell us a secret no one would guess about you?

I was a wild child, which includes lots of crazy stories including hitchhiking across the country and to Alaska at 18 years old.

One meal you could eat everyday?

Pepe’s Pizza from New Haven, CT.

One vice you wont give up?

Biting my nails.  It’s not that I WON’T give it up, but I have given up lots of things that were not healthy for me and biting my nails is the last bad habit that I have, and it is an important outlet for my stress.

Late riser or early bird?

LATE riser!  I love to sleep in and stay up late!  My brain is best between the hours of 4pm-11pm.

Morning routine you swear by?

A really good moisturizer and sunblock!  Green elixir and protein smoothie.

One day I hope…

To be a grandma.

More the merrier or less is more?

Depends on the situation… mostly, less is more except for a girls day— then the more the merrier!

Cool Brands you love?

Levis, Beyond Yoga, Miz Mooz boots and Mixed by Nasrin (amazing looking and comfortable jumpsuits!)

On the horizon: what’s coming soon?

Our 3rd annual Cam For a Cause Gala to benefit The Cameron Boyce Foundation will take place early next month. To learn more about that and our mission you can visit the website: https://www.thecameronboycefoundation.org/ . Additionally, after working for the County of Los Angeles Health Department for 34 years, I am retiring on September 28th, 2024. I’m hoping to produce a time-limited series about my mother-in law who is one of the Clinton 12 (the first black youths in the south to integrate a high school in 1956), telling stories about she-heroes through history, teaching graduate macro social work, consulting for small communities in the US about how to house and provide services for the unhoused in their communities.
