Can you tell us one secret no one would guess about you?
Truthfully, I am really solid at keeping others secrets, but I don’t have many of my own because I get too excited and am like an open book. That being said, it’s no secret that I cannot carry a tune to save my life, BUT I can make a range of realistic bird calls.
One meal you could eat everyday?
If I could just have a little bit of pasta daily, I think I would be better off, honestly.
One vice you wont give up?
All. The. Chips!
Late riser or early bird?
Always an early bird, forever an early bird.
Morning routine you swear by?
I wish the consistency of this morning routine could always be incorporated, but, ahh, life happens sometimes with other plans in mind.
Taking 10 slow, deep breaths and setting an intention for the day while stretching my body.
What I always have time for is, pressing my cheek against Oscar’s and whispering, ‘happy morning!’ Enjoying a hot cup of earl grey tea, with a couple re-heats. In terms of skincare, I don’t have a set routine and like to mix it up with masks, exfoliation agents and serums, but I’m currently using Verso cleansing balm, Tata Harper Serum and Repairative moisturizer, Nala Care’s breast oil applied to breasts, belly and hip area.
One day I hope…
Our world can recognize its responsibility for cultivating the respectful space that is deserved for people with disabilities and fostering environments and opportunities for equity, representation, accessibility and inclusion. This is the kind of world I want to see Oscar grow up in and supported by.
More the merrier or less is more?
Ehh, this feels more challenging to answer during covid! Typically, I’m a, ‘more the merrier’ – especially if it’s a dinner party and tasty wine is flowing.
Cool Brands you love?
Just to rattle off a few: The Great Eros, Shop Doen, Tower28 Beauty, Petits Vilains (for kids), Local Woman, Rachel Comey, Briwok Jewelry, Lisa Says Gah, and Nala Care!
On the horizon: what’s coming soon?
Bonnesen family of 4, Jan 2023! Personally, I am hoping for continued outlets to write and talk about accessibility needs in our communities and world. A children’s book is always a little voice in the back of my head, but it seems to be getting louder!
