Summer is officially here and we are so so excited! We know it’s the perfect time to stay outdoors, enjoy the weather, visit with friends and enjoy all the summertime feels. FAVE SUMMER BACKYARD GAMES:
While the summer is full of traveling to different destinations—you don’t always have to go far to have fun. Here are a few of our favorite games that can be played right in your backyard.
Cornhole
This super fun and easy game will keep the adults and kiddos entertained! Set up is quick with a cornhole and bean bag toss kit. Play a round of 10 and see which color makes it to 10 tosses in the hole first. Don’t have a cornhole kit at home? Get crafty and create one with a cardboard box. Just cut a hole in the lid and have the kids throw rolled socks instead of bean bags!
Horse
This is a classic on the basketball court or even your driveway hoop! Each person does a fun basketball move and shoots the ball. If they make it, the next person has to mimic the same move. If that person misses, then they get an H. The game is over when one person spells out the word HORSE. Bonus: Keep the learning going even though school’s out by switching up the words that you use so the kids can practice their spelling!
Water Balloon Toss
We all remember this one as kids! Fill up a bucket of water balloons. Take one and stand close to the other person as you toss the ball to each other. After each toss, move slightly further away and toss again. The first person to drop the balloon or gets splashed, gets a point. The person without any points wins!

Large Mat
A must have for an impromptu trip to the beach or park! Perfect to lounge or even picnic on! Find one that can also zip up to save space.
Towel
You never know when it may come in handy, even if it’s just knocking off all that sand from the beach!
Wet Bag
We love a good wet bag! Ideal for wet bathing suits or even accidents that can occur with the kiddos!

Grab one for everyone in the family! It’s a great way to instantly create shade and help protect from the sun.

Staying hydrated is key for everyone during the summer months! Make sure to keep water bottles handy so you and the little ones can sip all day long. Add a little cucumber or mint to yours for a little variety!
