A Time For Heroes
Recently we were honored to attend A Time For Heroes which is an event focused on raising funds and awareness for the effort to achieve an AIDS-free generation. One of my goals as a mother is to always instill in my girls the importance of awareness for others and the strength to be a hero. Being a hero can be defined by the smallest of gestures or the biggest of actions but being able to look outside of yourself and having a desire to help change the world is where it begins.
with Jake Glaser, son of Elizabeth Glaser
“The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation is the global leader in the fight against pediatric HIV/ AIDS, and has reached 20 million women with services to prevent transmission of HIV to their babies. It currently supports more than 7,000 health facilities and works in 15 countries to implement prevention, care, and treatment services; to further advance innovative research; and to execute global advocacy activities that bring dramatic change to the lives of millions of women, children, and families worldwide.”
It was such a positive event filled with lots of fun and food! We were also able to meet families who have benefitted from the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation firsthand. It was such a beautiful experience hearing their stories and enjoying the day together.
It truly takes organizations like this to lead the way in helping to fight global issues, such as AIDS. Please check out their website here to learn more about how they are helping women, children and families worldwide.
