Green Goodness

IMG_9427 Juice bars are all the craze nowadays!  There is one on almost every corner in LA.  I love having the option of popping in some place really quick and being able to get a fresh, healthy drink to hold me over for my next meal.  I try to drink them 4 or 5 days a week (I drank them every day when I was pregnant).  They are such a great source of vitamins and nutrients, in such a quick form.  My mom is very creative (she loves to bake, take pictures, cook, etc) and has found juicing can be a creative outlet for herself.  This is her “green goodness” recipe:

1 cucumber

1/2 jalapeno, seeds removed

1 1/2 inch ginger

5 celery stalks

1 carrot

1 bunch of kale

2 pears

2 apples

Put into your juicer and serve.  Makes about 4 servings..
